    A deputy arrested a female, placed her in handcuffs and put her in the back of his patrol car.  As the deputy returned to the vehicle to arrest a male, who resisted and struggled with the deputy; the woman slipped out of her handcuffs and got out of the patrol car.  The woman then attacked the deputy too.  He was able to go ahead and arrest both subjects.

    e was handcuffed and placed into the backseat of a patrol car but escaped when the officer stepped walked away from the police car for report information and when he returned to the police car, the window was rolled down and the prisoner was gone.  Police arrested the subject after he surrendered and was being transported in the back seat of a police car.  While being taken to the police station, the subject tried to escape again. He was able to break the plastic FlexiCuffs on his wrists, undid the restraints on his legs and escaped out an open police car window. The subject was detained almost instantaneously and will be charged with attempting to escape, again.

    Police arrested a man for DUI who was involved in a hit and run crash.  The man was placed handcuffed, into the back seat of a police car.  While investigating the crash, the arrested man escaped from the police car and fled on foot.  After officers discovered the escape, they conducted an hour-long search before calling it off.  About 5 hours later the escaped man started banging on a door of a residence and they called police.  Officers chased the man on foot and when caught, the man fought the officers. During the fight, the escaped man got an officers taser and began zapping officers and deputies, even shocking a county K9 dog.  An officer used a baton and struck the man a few times before the man was arrested again.

    Deputies responded to a family fight call and ended up fighting two brothers.  One man was arrested and placed handcuffed and leg shackled into the back seat of a caged patrol car.  While deputies were arresting the man's brother, the man in the patrol car was able to get his handcuffs in front of his body.  The man then kicked in the plexiglass divider between the front and back seats of the patrol car, allowing the man to get into the driver's seat of the patrol car.  The man then drove off and stolen the patrol car which was equipped with numerous guns including a shotgun and rifle.  Other units gave chase, but the man crashed the stolen patrol car into a gate then abandoned the stolen patrol car with a shotgun.  When confronted by officers, the man shot himself with the shotgun and died.  Two deputies were injured during the arrest.

    A guard was transporting three prisoners in handcuffs, shackles, and belly chains in transport van.  The guard left two males in the van and escorted a female prisoner to the restroom.  When the guard and female prisoner returned, the other two prisoners, convicted sex offenders, had slipped out of their restraints and escaped the van.  One prisoner was found about 2 hours later and the other prisoner 7 hours later after a large intense manhunt.

    Police were called about a man with a gun.  When officers arrived the man fled on foot but was found hiding in a building and taken into custody.  The man was placed in the back seat of a caged and locked police car with his hands cuffed behind his back.  While in the back seat of the police car, the man managed to step through the cuffs, bringing his hands to the front, and forced his way through a prisoner partition or cage into the front seat of the police car.  The man then stole the police car and sped away.  Officers found the stolen police car abandoned.  Hours after the escape, officers did arrested the man in a wooded area.

    A prisoner in handcuffs, leg shackles, and a belly chain was in the back seat of a detective unit.  The prisoner was giving information to detectives on the location of stolen items.  The prisoner was able to get into the front seat of the detective's unit and steal it.  After about a 3 hours hunt, the prisoner was found and arrested again and the stolen detective unit was found.

    Police arrested a man for stealing alcohol from a grocery store and placed him handcuffed into the back seat of a caged police car.  While the officer was standing about 15 feet from the police car getting information, the man slipped the handcuffs from behind his back into the front of his body.  The man slipped through the open partition into the driver's seat of the police car and attempted to drive away.  The officer made several attempts to break the window to gain access to the man, but he had locked the police car doors from the inside.  Surrounding law enforcement agencies assisted in the search of the stolen police car.  An officer found the stolen police car pull from a parking lot after the man robbed the business and took beer while wearing a police hat.  The officer attempted to stop the stolen police car but a high speed chase started.  Spike strips were used to stop the stolen police car.  The man was caught and subdued with a Taser.  A shotgun and a rifle were located inside the police car, but the man did not use or take the guns.

Preventative Steps
With Trooper Trap installed, prevention is 1 switch away.
Follow these easy steps to assist in preventing an escape.

Step #1 Handcuffed suspect in patrol or transport unit, seatbelt in place and activate alarm.
Step #2 Subject seated in patrol or transport unit, have subject put seatbelt on in case a vehicle strikes patrol unit while stopped and activate alarm.
Step #3 Subject standing or sitting outside the patrol or transport unit, have subject sit in patrol unit so subject does not get hit by a vehicle, then complete with Step #2.
Step #4 Use Trooper Trap - Weapon Alarm.  Leave armed, disarm before removing weapon.  If the weapon is removed when armed, an alarm will sound.
