  Officers arrested a subject for burglary and placed the handcuffed subject in the back seat of a police car.  The subject was able to get his hands in front of his body and attempted to escape several times.  The subject even stole an officer's cell phone while in custody in the police car.

  While investigating another crime, deputies from a meth lab and arrested 2 subjects which were at the residence.  Both subjects were and handcuffed and placed in different patrol cars.  While deputies were inside searching the building, one of the subjects was able to escape from the patrol car and fled on foot.  The man was captured about 8 hours later.

  Police arrested a man on drug charges at his residence, they handcuffed the man and sat him on the sofa while they finished a search.  The man ran for the bathroom in an attempt to flush drugs, but was stopped when officers Tased the man.  The man again ran from the sofa to the restroom and again was Tased.  An officer put the handcuffed man in the back seat of a police car and transported the man to jail.  During transport the man says he is ill.  The officer stops the police car and just as the officer opened the back door, the man force the door on open and fled from the officer.

  A trooper stopped a vehicle and arrested the passenger who had outstanding felony warrants.  The passenger was handcuffed and placed in the back seat of the patrol car.  While the trooper was dealing with other people, the prisoner was able to slip out of the handcuffs and open the police car door through the window which was slightly open for ventilation.  The prisoner fled on foot.

  During a traffic stop, deputies noticed the subject was nervous and while checking his identification, the subject fled from the traffic stop and into a wooded area on foot.  Two deputies and a K-9 dog chased the subject.  The subject shot and killed one deputy and the K-9, the other deputy was wounded.  A massive manhunt was launched and the subject was found.  He was shot and killed later by SWAT.

  Police arrested a subject for public intoxication and placed in the back seat of a caged police car.  During transport to jail, the subject  rammed his head into the rear cage of the police car then stated that he had hurt his neck and that he had a concussion and wanted to see a doctor.  After warning the subject to stop several times, the subject started to kick, head-butt and spit on everything in the back of the police car.  Before the officer could get the police car stopped, the subject rolled onto his back and kicked the side window of the police car, dislodging it from the track.   The subject then complained of illness again and an ambulance was called.  The subject was taken to the hospital.  Just over 2 months ago, the subject damaged another police car after being arrested.

  A deputy arrested a lady on an outstanding warrant.  She was handcuffed and being transported in the front seat of a patrol car.  When the deputy exited his car to let her out; the lady worked her way out of the handcuffs, moved onto the driver's side and fled in the patrol car.  A high speed chase ensued, with the lady in the stolen patrol car attempting to run over an officer at a roadblock.  The officer shot at he lady and struck her.  The lady was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery. Her condition was not immediately available.

  An officer arrested a suspect for DWI.  The officer handcuffed the suspect and placed him in the back passenger seat of the police car.  While the officer spoke with the tow truck driver; the suspect slipped his hands to the front of his body, climbed into the driver's seat, and attempted to drive away.  An officer jumped part way in the police car and fought with the suspect, but was dragged about 30 yards and injured.  The suspect rammed another police car and officers shot at, but missed the suspect.  The suspect crashed the stolen police car again and fled on foot.  Police caught him after a short foot pursuit and placed in another police car where he kicked out a window of that police car.  The suspect was injured in the crash.

  A handcuffed drunken driving suspect was killed Tuesday when he escaped from police officers and ran across Interstate 80 in front of an SUV.  Shaun Jones, 26, of Sacramento was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a Ford Expedition going 65 mph, the California Highway Patrol said.  Jones had been arrested on suspicion of driving drunk and handcuffed when he bolted and ran down the shoulder of the freeway.  With police in pursuit, he crossed the eastbound lanes and climbed over the center divider.   A woman was being driven to her vehicle by private security at a mall to get a credit card for payment at a spa.  While security drover her, the woman tried to jump out of the security officer’s car then grabbed at the gear shift and steering wheel before she was handcuffed.

  Officers stopped and checked on a vehicle beside the road without a license plate.  As the officers approached the vehicle, man got out of the car holding a cell phone and said he was calling his lawyer.  While one officer was checking the vehicle identification number, the motorist, talking on his cell phone, approached the other officer. The man then pushed the officer that was standing next to the police car and jumped in the driver seat of the police car.  The man sped away and officer later found the police car abandoned.

  The two juveniles were being transported to a community detention center after court by a private transport company.  The driver stopped to check on the juveniles after she heard a lot of movement in the back of the transport van.  When the driver opened the van door, the two juveniles assaulted the van driver and took her keys.  The juveniles were located and captured by police a while later.

  Police arrested a lady for DWI and drug charges.  The lady was handcuffed and placed in the back seat of a police car where she kicked out the rear passenger side window.  The lady was then placed into leg shackles and during transport to the police station, the lady was able to escape out the broken window of the police car still in leg shackles and handcuffs.  After a brief search involving numerous police departments, the lady was taken back into custody.

  Police arrested a man for outstanding warrants.  The man was handcuffed behind his back and placed seatbelted in the front passenger seat of the police car because a police dog occupied the back seat.  The officer was conferring with another officer on the scene when the man was able to move his hands under his legs, get his arms around in front, and steal the police car.  Officers chased the stolen police car and the man abandoned the stolen police car and captured after he attempted to flee and hide.
