witnesses. The man was able to get his handcuffs in front of his
body, wiggle his way through the protective partition into the front
seat, and speed away. The man led police on a short high speed
chase before crashing the police car in a wooded area. More than a
dozen officers along with tracking dogs plus a helicopter using nighttime infrared
equipment, found the man and captured him again.

the officer and ran. The officer chased the man, but lost him.
The man broke into a home about four hours later and stole a handgun and
jacket. A resident there was awaken and reported the burglary.
A helicopter and more than 20 officers searched the area for the
burglar. The following morning a detective spotted the armed man
who surrendered to officers peacefully.

subject's vehicle, the subject managed to contort his handcuffed arms
from behind his back, unbuckle his seatbelt and drive off in a patrol
car. Other officers gave chase, with the subject hitting several
mailboxes and a fire hydrant. The chase ended three minutes after
it began on a dead end road. The subject got out of the patrol car
with his hands still handcuffed and was taken back into custody.
The police dog was shaken but unharmed and the patrol car had to be
towed. Sheriff's Deputy said, "it was not a laughing matter."
"Nobody's looking at it as being funny. It's a serious thing, and we

car and sped towards the deputy with the deputy shooting at the arrested

found several hours later. The stolen patrol car, suffered about

who was handcuffed with a restraint belt around his waist and shackles on
his ankles. The seatbelt was on the prisoner with the
child-restraint door locks activated. The transport unit had no cage
between the front and rear seats. During transport, the prisoner
lunged towards the front seat of the vehicle, and forcibly grabbed one of
the Constable's gun. The prisoner assaulted the two constables, and
escaped from a rear passenger side window. During the course of the
assault, the prisoner fired at least five shots in the direction of both
constables while they were inside the vehicle, and the shots shattered the
windows of the vehicle. Once outside the vehicle, the prisoner
struck one of the Constables multiple times in the face with the gun, and
kept threatening to shoot both constables. The prisoner then
approached the driver of a black Jeep, pointed the gun at the driver's
face, and ordered him out of the vehicle or he'd shoot. While the
prisoner was in the jeep, he attempted to back over one of the Constables
before hitting a van as the prisoner left the scene. The prisoner
was still handcuffed and lead officers on a high speed chase before
crashing into a police car and beer truck, and being taken back into
custody. The prisoner and
constables were treated for injuries at a hospital and released.

During the transport, the subject was able to

Texas Troopers spotted the stolen transport vehicle and attempted to use

car without a cage, which was parked less than a block away and around the
corner. The officers went back to the vehicle the subject was

the officer was away from the police car, the subject was able to get into
the front seat of the police car and drive away. The officers saw
their car driving away, they ran after it and fired one shot striking the
driver side door, which shattered. The subject ran into a vehicle,
in the stolen police car and continued. The stolen police car was
found later and were able to locate and arrest the subject later that day.

Troopers stopped a vehicle with four men in a car on
suspicion of drug possession. While the Troopers were searching the
vehicle, one of the men jumped into the patrol car and sped away.
The thief didn't get far and crashed the stolen patrol car into a barrier,
went airborne and crashed into a second concrete barrier. The
trooper's car was totaled. The driver suffered minor injuries, but no one
else was injured. Troopers found two guns and crystal
